LabRadar App

LabRadar finally released an app for the chronograph. There is also new firmware for the device.
It connect via Bluetooth to a cell phone or tablet.
Let's you arm the device, view shot by shot results, and otherwise control the unit. Much easier than getting up and pushing buttons on the unit during a string.

I bet Rick already has it on his phone.:headscratch:

Rick just flipped open his phone and looked. Nope, not an app to found anywhere. Just as it should be.

Maybe they will let it connect direct to your computer?
I like not needing to get up and walk around the bench to rearm if I take a short break between shots.

Might just need to give the app a good test tomorrow.

Laptop Ian, laptop.

Hey Rick, make sure to change the settings on the app. It defaults to m/s and joules.

Never once have I worked in a textile mill. Also been one very happy camper since I retired and fired the rip off cell phone company and trashed that stupid sorry excuse of a telephone.

So make all the non-sensical jokes ya want, Rick is much happier without a stupid phone than he ever was with one. Most especially when looking at the bank account that wasn't depleted for something useless, un-needed and un-wanted.

All joking aside I do think this is an easier way to control the unit.
Changing strings, rearming, and such was a pain for me. With my bench set up I had to get up and walk around the bench. I always felt rushed to start a string before the arm window closed. This should reduce that rushed feeling.

Technology is rapidly changing. I can't even imagine what we will be using as a chronograph in 10 years.

Never had to run around the bench, I simply lean forward to set/adjust the unit. The window for arming the unit is adjustable. Adjust it.

BTW, I have the same model dumb phone as Rick...................hardly ever use it, just have it for emergencies. No need to bring a laptop over. Couple of them around here, as well as desktops. Can print to printer in basement, 20 yards away.

Rick's design............I helped with final assembly. I came up with the leveling for the chairs.......slight downward incline. Didn't want to mix and pour concrete.

I will not be getting the app for my cell, hardly ever turn it on, its for emergencies. My LabRadar is easy enough for me to manage.

I'm interested in buying one. My Pact unit recently gave up the ghost (I've nursed it along for quite a few years).
Does the unit come as a bare unit without a mount? Do you have to buy the desktop mount and case separately?
Would you guys recommend this unit, despite the cost, over Shooting Chronys and Caldwell units?
I can afford this unit (small price compared to some of the guns I have), but hate to overpay if not necessary.

All you'll get on opinions on worth the cost is personal opinions. Here's mine . . . Yep, worth every dime. :) Yes, I highly recommend it. Yes, both the mount and the case are extra cost additions, the bench mount is well worth it. For a case just using an old laptop carrying case, works well.

Thanks Rick.
I shoot at a public range and it takes two cease fires to get the screens set up on my old Pact.
No screens would be great!

That was a big selling point for me when I got on the waiting list long before they came out. I got an email from them a few days ago, I think they are on sale right now if ya wanna look into it.

Just looked back through the deleted email folder, found the sale from LabRadar and sadly what it said was . . . $50 off sale ends today, June 24th. Oh well.

Went to their website a few minutes ago. Same price as Amazon, but no free shipping.
