Mine isn't 100% electric. Have a propane gas dryer, dual fuel range and a fireplace............in addition to the direct feed propane grill on the back porch.

Well I’ve certainly seen savings which of course get eaten up by the increasing electric bills. We got grid power in the mid 90’s. We are using a little less then 40% of the electricity now by comparison. The electric bill has not changed much because we have gone from $0.07 per Kilowatt to $0.27 pre kilowatt.
Our Cooperative uses oil to generate electricity, we have a “clean” coal plant that was built but never allowed to go on line because of the greenies. Our power plant here contributes to the poor air quality because of winter time inversion holding all the bad air down on top of the town. The clean coal plant is out about 100 miles away on the inter tie where only a moose or two would be effected.
I so wish the executives of all the electric generating companies and oil companies could selectively turn off the power and the oil to the people that bitch about those products. I'd hunt them down and flip their switches to off for a minimum of a year, maybe permanently.

Amen brudda. Clean coal is as dead as nuclear, and yet I don't think there's a future without them.

California's Central Coast Amid The Insanity
The Diablo Canyon nuclear plant has reduced its output and is scheduled to go off-line within the next few years.

The state's wind and solar farms are inherently inefficient and unable to produce enough electricity to meet current demands, and the grid system is so lacking some of the wind and solar produced electricity is sold at a loss to other buyers. Unbelievable. Predictable, though.

Mother Nature's winds are fickle, so, too, are political winds, and the guv is seeking federal approval to delay Diablo Canyon's closure.

the electric company replaced all the meters in my area last year and low and behold my bill went down by more than a third. a neighbor has been griping about the meters for years. no one took him seriously . but maybe he was right. lived in my house for 27 years and never had bills this low. kinda makes me want a refund ( fat chance).
