1 Lee 329-205 2 cavity bullet mold with the gas check removed. This mold now drops a plain base bullet. Purchasing this mold was an experiment for a vintage rifle I have with an oversize bore. I took a chance that this mold would drop a bullet I could use in that rifle, but it turned out not to be the case. I have no use for this mold. I have only cast with it once. It is otherwise, brand new. I purchased it in Feb 2023.
With the GC remove, the bullet from this mold weighs 215 grains when cast with 20:1 alloy. The mold was modified by drilling out the pins for the handles and then the mold blocks were chucked in a 4-jaw lathe chuck and the gas check areas machined out on the lathe.
The mold was then tuned up by stoning off all the high spots around the alignment pins and on the sprue plate. The Lee molds can be a little rough out of the factory.
The pin holes were then threaded for 8-32 screws and headless 8-32 screws installed to hold the blocks to the handles.
