Just got this lil lead saver for fun in both 31s and 30s... as well as my tt33. Casting out to a beautiful soup can at .315"

Planned experiments:
As cast - 7.62x54r, 303br
.311" balance of 30 cals... 30-30, 30-06, 308, etc.

I see on the other site others have had success... wanted to see how many folks have played with it, and any recommendations.

Thanks!
Andy

I have had similar plans for a while.. but have only shot a handful of them in a break action 300 Blackout. Three grains of Titegroup, unknown primers, tumble lubed and thumb seated. Don't take my word on that super-specific load data being safe. They shot nice clean holes for me, though. I wish I could get more than the two-cavity mold, but mine is barely broken-in.

Thanks!!! Looks like the fast pistol powders are the way to go... just like any gallery or guard load.

BE, titegroup, trailboss... what's the opinion on red dot? Same thoughts?

In my opinion you can use RD just like BE powder. So far I have found BE and RD to be get fun in gallery loads for the 30-06 and standard loads in pistols. But research some of Ed Harris postings (Outposts 75). For low velocity loadings.

I have a cousin bullet from Lyman I can't remember now but 3-5 gr of Unique or Red Dot in 30-30,308,06' were quite accurate and hardly more than hammer fall recoil .

A good read about this subject... good refresher, since I haven't looked at it for a bit.

Powder coated you can use this bullet in oversized bores in the .316-.3165 range. I have some cast and PC’ed for my Arisakas. Haven’t shot any of them yet.

ok - had to look at this 3 times. I was like - wait - that is the pistol bullet! I have it. Not using it for any rifles.

But - I have a pair of old 32 Longs. A colt Police Positive (98 yrs old) and a Smith Regulation Police (105 yrs old). Both have cylinder throats that are .314. The Smith has a semi-sewer pipe bore. My mold drops .314 and both revolvers shoot it great. Only thing that the Smith has shot well at all.
