I remember a tale a buddy told a bunch of us while in the Navy. He was riding his motorcycle back to Jax on I10 and saw an Armadillo up ahead, he decided to kick the crap out of it. He said he just about broke his foot and wiped out his bike. The way he told it was pretty funny.

I've got that bullet in the regular style, but it's neglected since I got a copy of Mihec's HG68. It shot good, I didn't care for the looks of it though, just looked funky to me.

anybody here who can recommend this mould / Bullet for .45 ACP . Currently i use the Lee HG 68 Clone in my Springfield 1911 A1 and the RCBS 230 RB Bullet. Opposide to the HG 68 Lee the nose of the TL Lee Bullet are shorter but square .
Someone says this bullet will make a lot of trouble .....

Klaus,
I have great results using the Lee 200 grain tumble lube swc in my Ruger 1911. I cast it from wheel weights, powder coat some and tumble lube the rest with a 45 45 10 alox mix. Good accuracy and no leading.
Thanks
Francis

Klaus if they are having trouble with that bullet they are using the wrong magazines.
there are two types.
one is the old school standard hard ball magazine.
and then there is a swc type which presents the nose of the bullet at a different angle to the chamber.

now there are swc type bullets, and then there are the designs like the H&G 68 which are a SWC design but hidden in the design is a hardball nose shape.
only with about 30grs. of metal removed around the points that don't make contact in the critical places for the bullet to function in the older type of magazine.

Lee's 200 grain H&G #68 plagiarism has run well for me in several 45 ACP pistols. The Glock 21 has a small "hitch" while feeding, but it does feed. The Gold Cup runs them just fine with old-school hardball magazines, and runs the Lyman #452460 just as well.

Klaus;
Fiver speaks the truth. A lot of SWC bullets "claim" to be a copy of the H&G #68. They are not! The H&G #68 was specifically designed to have the same "strike point" when chambering as hardball does. Mihec's correct copy of the H&G does everything that the original H&G design did. It flat out WORKS. I currently have several Mihec #68 molds and have used the H&G original in the past.

I use the 460 too, and it replaced the 68 I had.
I was pretty dubious about it working because I could see the nose was a bit different, but even at the shorter oal I use all of my magazines and guns run it just fine.
maybe with a slight sorta draggy hitch from time to time, but I'm sure my lighter load data has something to do with that as much as anything.
