Linux

Do we have any members who have loaded Linux on to a computer?
How did you do it?
Have Linux Mint Cinnamon ISO on a thumb drive but have not figured out how to get it to
load,
If it were a Microsoft program it would have an IXE program to get it to load but Linux doesn't
have one ( at least as far as I can see).
I want to do a clean install on an older computer to use as a learning curve too wean myself
away from Microsoft.

Any help appreciated

We had Linux but when our hard drive died we lost it and have the same issue. I think we had Umbatu (?) and I sure liked it.

Set the computer up to boot from USB stick. It works great but if you have a wireless internet it may not have the proper driver to run he wireless. Clean the old one -IIRC, just set up the hard drive for full use. Will format and overwrite.
Go to Mint.org for details.

You will need to scrub the drive clean Hopefully your computer can boot from the thumb drive you have and run the Linux installer

What kind of computer? Laptop or desktop. ubuntu works well also. If you get to boot the USB it will as if you want to format.
