Liquid lubes

45/45/10 if you didn't buy up Johnson's liquid wax before it died off. BLL IF you were lucky (and I was) and caught a few cans of the JLW. Regardless, I am still using the 45/45/10, even to coat commercial cast I buy. Works great for me.

Bret and Lamar need to behave themselves.

Actually some of those transcontinental expressions I use SAVE writing or typing. One long word = lots of small words, fewer net letters and spaces. E.g., anadromous--a fish "Born in fresh water, lives its life in the ocean, then returns to fresh water to spawn". Catadromous--a fish that does the exact opposite of anadromous.

Bottom-line......I am all about the 'most descriptive for the least effort'. I'll be here all week--don't forget to tip the waitstaff.

Yes,YOU save the typing but WE wasted more typing by going to google to find out what the hell you mean.
In my job we quickly learn to speak in terms understandable by the lowest common denominator. I prefer to do that here too, makes it easier for the LCD, right Lamar?:embarrassed:

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Good thing we don't have too many youngsters on this site. They not only speak in small, ambiguous words, they just use the initials for the words in half their sentences. LOL!

Pharmacists have to speak in abbreviations because nobody can pronounce the official names of their medications.

Even we struggle with pronouncing some of them.

Most people get by with a 250-word vocabulary, which is a little less than 1.5% of the language's capacity.

twofiddy I know people that can turn a whole sentence into one word.
with like 2 vowels and 6 consonants. [good thing that word wasn't on a spelling test]

BTW - how do you guys dry after lubing? Do you stand them all up on a flat surface or just let them dry in a clean container?

Stick a cookie sheet inside a small trash bag and smooth out the wrinkles. Dump bullets, shake a couple times to spread them out and put someplace good to dry like on a car hood in the sun.

I just put mine on a piece of wax paper in front of a small fan. Usually dry in an hour or two. If no fan I just let them sit overnight.

My BLL mix dries in five minutes in front of a fan at 50% humidity. Good stuff.

I have some, but have never really thought of using it by itself until having read some posts about it recently. I'll be giving it some attention this year. Picked up a CZ 527 Carbine in 223 and will start casting for it this year. Lots of experimenting to be done.

I got to play with one at SHOT and fell in love. I picked up an older one that has the older style sights, but it is still 1:9 (and new in the box). I found a QD mount for an Aimpoint micro that fits the CZ dovetail, so I think I'll have a handy woods gun for coyotes and plinking. I have plenty of 223 guns set up for tiny holes in paper or long distance shooting.

There's also Recluse's 45/45/10 using XLOX/JPW/MS since JLW is unobtanium...
I use it with similar success as BLL & other derivatives...
