Liquor store parking.

My guess is that extra section of concrete between the old sidewalk and the bottom of the posts was thier first attempt to keep the cars at bay.

But here's the real question, are the people ARRIVING at the liquor store already drunk?

Be a good place for a cop to camp out. Hitting one of those posts would provide enough probably cause for a field sobriety test. Yes, I know it is private property and not a public street, but if the cop saw them drive off the public street, he is good to go. Sorry boys, can't help myself, the lawyer brain never shuts off.

People can't drive in general, even when there's no alcohol or drugs involved. I bet you could find similar scenes in front of just about any establishment. Hair saloon, bank, grocery store, etc.

I would also be willing to bet a lot of those poles in that photo were damaged by delivery trucks backing up to the front door of that store. Just because someone IS driving a big box truck doesn't mean they know HOW to drive that truck.

that's how half of our road signs get taken out.
then I seen the crew out there fixing the signs and noticed one of them was a guy I know for sure is a plow driver.
