Loading bench pics

Ok guys. Let's see your loading bench set up. I'll start. Mine is pretty simple. It has a lot of sentimental value to me. It was my uncles. The Rockchucker and Dillon were his too. My kids are gone and moved out now so I took my daughters room as my new indoor loading room. It's nice not being out in the garage.
So. Let's see your set up!

Your kids are grime? Do,they know that?

I will get some decent photos of mine tomorrow. Mine is in a dedicated room in Thea basement. We put in base cabinets and a top made of 2 layers of 3/4 inch plywood glues and scored together. I used a paint made for garage floors on the top. It has help up well to solvent over the 12 or so years I have had it.

When the youngest moved out for the last time, I got our smallest bedroom, 8 X 11, for my own. Before I reloaded in a shed, but now have a re-modeled child's schoolreloading and work bench.jpg desk I have modified. The rest is library and computer desk. Press is an old Redding I rebuild, but the base also mounts one of the new excellent RCBS Summit for reforming cases.

RicinYakima, are you a machinist? I see a Kennedy box at top of pic and the aluminum mounting plate appears to have an old coat of Dykem on it. The little angle clamp or fixture also looks like something I've seen before and should recognize.

Smokeywolf, I would not call myself a machinist, but I do have a lathe and a mill/drill/grind tool. My father wanted me to be a tool and die maker back in the 1960's. Oh no, I was afraid the war would be over and I wouldn't get to see it. But I did spend two summers in a pre-apprentice program at Cincinnati Tool while in High School. The little square thingee is a Redfield 102 rear sight I was getting ready to put on a Remington 721 re-barreled to 450 Watts.

Ian, Guessed right! I collect reloading books and manuals, about 6 linear feet of them so far, from 1902 through modern publications.

You will notice I have lots of space, lots of crap, and little organization.
I also manage to keep the wife out of the area, must be the mess......

Wow Brad, I thought I was the only meticulous reloader with a completely disorganized bench. In my defense, it is hard to organize when I have 700 sq ft of machine shop and hobby tools, supplies and projects in about 440 sq ft of space. To the left of the Lyman sizer/luber is a casting pot and a little further down, a barrel vise. About 8 feet to the right of where the stool is, sits the biggest solid mahogany roll-top desk I've ever seen.

Haven't done much at the bench due to machining commitments. Even though I'm again retired, still can't get out to the bench until the fractured metatarsals in my left foot get a bit more healing time.

My casting is done in the garage.
I am in need of a better way of organizing stuff but I tend to be cheap. What I need to do first and foremost is buy a ton more MTM ammo boxes. If almost every case had a home in box then they wouldn't live in plastic bins or baskets.

I recently did some cleaning in there and removed cast bullets I was no longer using or didn't have a desire to shoot. I figured I might remelt 50 pounds of bullets. I ended up with 275 pounds! That is a bunch of cast lead that will become soemthing more useful that dust collectors.

woo hoo I am super organized and didn't even know it.

I'm giving up on the mtm boxes and I'm switching over to the plastic ammo can knock offs for ammo storage.
the mtms were fine when I only had 500 pieces of brass for something.
I could fill the boxes then stack them back in the box they shipped in and put them on a shelf.
works great for some things like the 357 max and 41 mad, but not so good for the bulk stuff like 44 mag/357/45 colt.

Fiver if that was in response to my room they are Texans. I have 5 all in 12 gauge I'm going to convert them to other gauges but parts are hard to find so I will be making my own.
