Loading Room

Ah, the bliss of ignorance! I don’t even know that my priming system is horrible. It’s the only one that I’ve ever used.

I prime and expand at the same time on my Lee Classic Cast. I like it just fine.

If it makes you feel any better Josh, all the groups I've posted since joining this forum, with the exception of some .44 Magnum groups I shot to test some bullets Brad sent me, had their primers seated either on a Pro-1000 or a Classic Turret, using the OEM primer dispensers and seating tools. I do uniform the pocket depth of all my LR brass as a rule.

I really like the old Lee hand priming tool and have a couple of them, but I rarely need to prime off the press.

I’m Okay. I’m just gonna have to walk this one off. It was like a punch to the gut when I realized that there are people who don’t like priming on their presses, the tears came when I discovered that they also don’t like Lee products!!!

I don’t have the primer pocket uniforming tools. But, all my military brass have had the pockets swaged with the (on press) RCBS Pocket Swaging Tool. I wonder if some of you also uniform the primer hole with a drill bit, not the big holes for mouse fart loads, but just that certain sized bit that lands at the top of the tolerance range for standard primer holes.

Woops! That got drifty!

Back on topic:
You can’t see my room. It is disorganized and has “layers“ of gear on most of the flat surfaces! I do keep a 4’x4’ square clear of chaos and debris where I do my actual loading.

I have a pair of those swager kits and have very mixed feelings about them. One thing they do not do is uniform depth or even diameter beyond about halfway down the pocket. Much of the time they leave a set that makes primer seating a jerk, squeeze...JUMP operation. To date I haven't found anything that looks like it would be any better.

All my priming is off press using the old Lee hand primer tool (round tray). I check very seated primer to avoid high primers.
Back to the thread...
Creeker has a well organized and neat room. Mine is organized, just not always neat.

Right, the thread. The thing about Lynn's space is elbow room. Many of us have tight spaces to work in regardless of all the stuff, and it must be nice to not have to turn sideways to get past the chair that's up against the loading bench. Also, there is enough room around the stuff on the shelves to see what is there.

Ian, space is a vital commodity here as well. Trying to add I another persons “stuff” is creating some massive congestion. My wife may see a reduction in space for her Star Wars collection.

the problem is reloading stuff goes where it lands in most setup's.
then everything else is fit in around it, and if more is added it somehow finds a spot near where the first one got put.

Ugh. I can certainly empathize.

Ian has room for growth. Just take out the Tonka Truck on the shelf in the first picture and he's room to spare.
If I had that much stuff my wife would kill me. Of course she is not aware of everything out there.

I've contemplated the space that Tonka truck takes up many times. Problem is if I took it out of the room, where would I put it?

In your son's room. Before you know it, he'll be pushing it round the house and the yard.

Ian in all the back and forth, I forgot to say you have a nice setup. Or should I say facility. Anyway you say it, it's awesome.
