I'm looking to buy about 100 .35 Cal 200 grain flat nose cast bullets, similar to the RCBS or other: to hunt white tail with this season! Don't want a hard alloy , rather something about BHN 13 or lower! Don't have any mould like that ...& will be using them in my 35 Rem....... Marlin
Around ..360" or + diameter
Thanks
Jim

I'll look tomorrow while I'm checking H&Is and see if I have some 358-200s . If someone else has something don't let this slow you down .

Jim,
I have the RCBS 35 200gr. I normally cast them from straight wheel weights, and water drop them. But if you need them softer, I can cast some using @ 50% pure, and air cool.
Send me a PM, and we'll figure out what you want!

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Let me see whats in stock in the way of RCBS 35-200's. The alloy/treatment/size would be just what you are looking for.

Thanks Don & Thanks Bret!
Bret I will wait to see what you already have cast up first!
If you come up empty, Don I will get back to you!
Don, I think unquenched wheel weights come on a BHN 13 (?) Don't need any sizing; I will do that here!
Thank you both for you offer!

I'm shorter than I thought on 35-200's Jim. Sorry! I thought I had a can of 250 or so but they seem to have vanished.

Jim, I just checked and I have a couple options for you. BRP 35-220 as-cast (they're fat, I didn't measure but IIRC they're in the .361+ range). Other option is I have 95 unsized Lee 358-200-rf bullets which have been powder coated and are in the .3602" to .3607" range (slightly elliptical but very consistent). The Lee bullets need gas checks which I add after coating due to the shank casting a touch small with straight wheelweight alloy. My cut-rifled 336 shoots well with either using full-power, max-pressure loads. The 220s are custom made for the Marlin actions and are the maximum bullet you can use and not be below the case neck, but IMO add a noticeable and unnecessary amount of recoil and loss of available velocity for not much gain as a 200 RF will penetrate a deer lengthwise and keep going. I don't have a .38 sizer larger than .3585" since my revolvers and rifles have never needed that (no MG Marlins in that caliber). If you want any of those and can install the checks squarely on the Lee bullets with a blank die I'll send them along sometime later this week.

You guys. I had to leave yesterday pretty early to drive 5 hours North, get in a visit and drive 5 hours back and was gone 14 hours all together. I just cast 32 pounds of the RCBS 35-200-FN but I wanted to put one under my LBT hardness tester and measure the diameter before I stuck my foot in my mouth.

JW, these are cast of straight clip on wheel weights. A sample of four as cast weigh 209.2, 209.2, 209.3, and 209.4. LBT tool says the brinnell is 12, and they are just .360" measured with a Lyman digital calipers. I'm embarrassed to say I could not lay my hands on the micrometer at the moment.

So I too offer these for your consideration, and your money is flat out no good.
