LR-308 upper fix

Forward action pin lug isn't radiused correctly on this one so the upper won't pin to the lower nor pivot.

Had to use my rotary table and radius fixture, then go to the pin gauges and lathe to make an alignment pin to fit the upper and the center-drilled hole in the end of the radius fixture center pilot pin.

Got half of it done and test fitted,

Then had to swap the clamp around and do the other side far enough for the action to open all the way.

I left that last little bit to save what finish I could, and that's as far as it needed to be relieved.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I'd have a wicked case of the shakes trying something like that! One mistake and it's ruined. Good on you man!

That's probably because that's all she had. I used to be like Ida, but am enjoying treating myself to some proper (if cheap) equipment.

Ida (sharp eye, there, Ian!) -- reminds me of an old Air Force joke about a girl named Ida Wanna.

I'm too old to even think of getting all that nice equipment - she would have to give it away when I'm gone. Lucky Ian.

I'ma (that's another one, and her sister Ura, last name Hogg) waiting for someone to bust my chops over not thinking to stuff the receiver full of paper towels to keep the "man glitter" out of the works. Hey, I was busy not screwing up an $800 part with a carbide end mill, and the thirty two zillion little microscopic aluminum flakes that I can't seem to get washed out will work as anti-seize and break-in paste for the bolt carrier group ;)
