John Kort did a 200 Sil RCBS mold for me, and many others
long ago, 1990 or so, that mold looks like some of his work, he never marked them, so there is no way to tell if he did it
He was a firm believer in bore riding portion to be tight in the bore

Is the enlarged nose diameter what makes you think this modified 31141 would shoot better than the normal 311041. I am also assuming this bullet will be shot with BensRed + BLL and not PC which would make the nose too large. Kevin

When I bought the mould, powder coating was not on my radar.
Still isn't.

that larger nose area back near the drive band will especially help, it isn't a whole lot of improvement, but it most likely will help with any slump or leade imperfections.

Umm, what is your point ???
I think Skinner was confused by the law in California that you cannot hunt with lead. California has not banned casting bullets with lead alloy, yet. Give them time. In five years you probably be pilloried for using the "L" word there.
Oh, and Skinner is a New Zealander, so his, ah, exclamations are bit different than ours.

Welcome aboard, Skinner.

L Ross got it right, hunting with lead bullets is outlawed in California, as is fishing with lead sinkers. The Powers That be in my State aren't the least bit coy about their reviling hatred of harvest sports--hunting or fishing. Each year the regulations become more complex--the sanctions more severe if you run afoul to these ticky-tack make-work BS regs--and more difficult to make an actual harvest.

In the midst of this criminalization of field sports these same Authorities have given hall passes to the perps of all manner of crimes against persons and property. I will lapse deeply into the politics involved to say much more about this trend, so I'll shut up right now.

Call me crazy but the modified bullet appears to have a smaller nose. If the mold was altered that would make the nose bigger unless metal was somehow added to the mold.

I have not measured the diameter of the end of the nose ( the meplat ) , but visually, if anything, it looks slightly larger to me.
