I bought this one today from Max, ( Wasalmonslayer ) .
I'll have it next week hopefully.
I have a single cav. and a double cav in the 358477 , now with a 4 cavity, I should be set .
Obviously, I have high regard for this bullet.

I think the word "Iconic" applies to the 358477.

In my opinion, there is no better "do it all" bullet for the 38 Special.

A 4-cavity iron mold for that bullet is about the perfect balance between production volume and weight of the mold. Again, personal opinion but I don't think I'm alone in that opinion.

I went with the SAECO four cavity version of that design (#382) which isn't an exact copy of the 358477 but it's pretty close.
The RCBS 38-150 SWC is another design that is in the same ballpark with the 358477 and an excellent mold. Unfortunately, RCBS tops out at two cavities for any mold. RCBS uses a very good iron alloy, and their machining is top notch but if you want 4 cavities in one mold block - RCBS is a no-go.

Ben, I would agree that with that mold, you are set.

I've sent thousands of #358477 down range, mostly in 38 Special and more recently in 38 S&W. The NOE 4-cavity clone casts a bit large (.361"+) so it is well-nigh perfect sized/lubed at that spec in my Colr PP and S&W Reg Police 4" popguns. Accurate, too. Well-made revolvers in this caliber can group right with their 38 Special and 357 Magnum cousins at 25 yards. Such loads (#358477 @ 700 FPS are the bane of a jackrabbit's existence at 35-40 yards.

you'll like it Ben.
i have a 2 and 4 cav with that same rounded nose and round lube groove.
i was concerned about the lube groove actually holding lube because of that wide rounded shape.
no problems, it's held soft medium and hard lube just fine.
it's a super accurate target bullet.

My 4 cav. 358477 and handles arrived today.
Many thanks to Max ( Wasalmonslayer ) for a quality mould.
Max did a wonderful job packaging this mould.
The package was basically " Gorilla Proof ".
I hope to cast some this weekend.
With a minimum of up keep and care, this one will last my grandson Trevor and I a VERY LONG TIME !

After 50 years of casting different bullets for my 38/357s, this is my go-to bullet.
I have the 4 cavity Lyman mould.
