Made my first batch of BLL

Stopped by Home Depot yesterday and grabbed the only two bottles of no buff floor polish on the shelf. I was bummed they only had two but was stoked that they were 50% off! $3.25 per bottle. Even at that, I'll be in business for some time. Two fresh bottles of Lee alox put me right at 60% in my new clear ketchup bottle and topped the remainder off with the floor wax. I rolled my sized and lubed(with 2500) 405gr 45-70 bullets in my new batch of BLL last night. I loaded them in WW brass with CCI primers and 24gr 2400. I might get out and shoot this weekend. My buddy is going to do the trigger on my 1895 on the 23rd of next month. This should help me out a lot. I'll make sure to report back on the results. Oh yeah. This will also be the first bullets shot with my newly opened up .460" die. Wish me luck.;)

It is just plain good stuff! I am on my first catsup bottle, have overcoated probably 1500 or more bullets and still have half a bottle. That includes double coating probably half of them. The stuff goes a long way with just a little bit.
I have been using two large McDonalds cups to pour them back and forth for coating, works better for me than other ways. Shot 25 rounds of 45-70 yesterday in the #1, 20 340Lees, and 5 full power loads with the old Gould HP. both over coated with BLL. BLL, was mirror bright slick when I looked down the tube! Yep, good stuff.

I find the recommended ways totally worthless.
I put mine in a ziplok bag and tumble them back and fourth from one hand to the other.
You method sounds equally functional.

I made my first batch of BLL.
Yesterday.

Lubed up 300 .38 wad cutters.

They have been setting under the fan for 24 hours and are as dry as they are going to get given out current weather. (Nonstop rain for two days.)

The film is slightly thinner and they are slightly less sticky then LLA.
They look very good. I am going to load up a couple of boxes right now.
But first I need to scrub my seating die to be sure it starts clean.

I have one question.

BLL? I was expecting liquid but this stuff pour like water. Is is supposed to be that thin? ( And yes. I shook up the Johnsons wax before pouring it.)

Mine is very thin as well. I think it's supposed to be like that.

Yep, pours like water. If it gets thick and goopy add some mineral spirits.

It did. But guess what. I got in too big of a hurry and lubed a bunch of unsized bullets. When I had trouble seating them, I thought Uh-Oh.

Now I am pumping the sizer handle.

Won't be shooting this in the morning. More like Tuesday.

That's ok, I thought I'd have time to run some PB lights through one of my .30-30s this afternoon....and now it's dark at 5:00. Rats. Guess I should go outside more often?

Very true, at least until I get the shooting tunnel operational in my missile silo.

Just boxed up my second batch of BLL bullets.

I have not yet been able to shoot any because the weather is just too bad.
We had two days of nonstop rain followed by 24 hours of 97% humidity.
I put these under the fan about 8 PM last night. It has been about 14 hours and I just checked to see if I could load them.
I am happy to report they are the unstickiest tumble lube bullets I have ever handled.
They did not stick to the waxed paper and they do not stick to my fingers.

Now I am going to load them and hopefully this afternoon I will be able to get to the range and try them out.
