I was just using my Mihec 8 cavity to run some 150 gr. 9mm bullets. I didn't run it long and I had made 600+ bullets. The bullets just fall out of the smooth cavity moulds like this. I was skeptical of MiHec moulds but this one has been great and he is the only game in town for 8 cavity moulds of modern designs.

3C brass HP in this bullet style isn't for wimps or newbs, but it does work very well once you get the hang of it.

The gc shank is .2835X.2875" running 2/2 alloy at 700 degrees. Hornady checks don't snap all thw way on but it doesn't take much to seat them square, and even sized down to .3095" from .312" there isn't a huge loose ring of lead pushed up in front of the gas check.

I have maybe 5 or 6 Miha molds. One was a double cavity which came with one pair of half
cavities misaligned, and was immediatley replaced, no return, no pix needed.
All cast perfectly wonderful bullets, very round and very crisp. They fall out of the molds
very easily, often just shake it a bit once it is open.

The 30 SIL mould is a buggar under the best conditions. The hp makes it doubly challenging because the big square lube groove wants to lock the bullet in one block while the hp pin tears out the nose. I finally got it going just right and learned to tap the sprue plate gently while opening the mould just a little so that all the bullets stayed in the opposite block with the pins. Then flip the mould over and tap the lower part of the block gently to unlock the bullets from the lube groove shank and let them ride out on the hp pin guides. Another gentle peck on the block to pop the bullets off the spuds. Rinse and repeat fast enough to keep everything hot. Not a lot of fun but it works. My biggest issue with the first run of these was the gas check shanks being too big to work, and much larger than specified. That appears to be fixed as promised. All other aspects of the mould are absolutely flawless. I think I'll be spending much more time with the six-cavity solid than this one, though.
