Marlin 1894 Barrel Thread Question

A friend posed a question to me today about R&R of barrels on an early-20th-Century vintage Marlin 1894 rifle. He wishes to know whether its receiver threads will correspond to the barrel threads found on one of the late 1980s-to-early 2000s era Marlin 1894 barrels that are listed (now out of stock) at Numrich Arms. This one is above my pay grade, and that of Buckshot as well. Anyone with info along this line? TIA!

I replaced a BADLY rusted original 1894 barrel with a 1990's barrel. Threads are not the issue. Original barrels have a cartridge guide on the left side of the chamber, the modern barrels are flat on the back. This is because of the cut needed in original action for the bolt raceway. I solved it by putting a small dab of JB weld in the cut and contouring it with a waxed Q-tip. Worked fine and didn't fall out the whole time I owned the rifle. FWIW.

p.s. I may still have the original barrel in the scrap pile if you want to look at it.

Have it sleeved. My 1906 25-20 M94 had a sleeve put in over 30 years ago, still holding up after thousands of rounds.

A reline like you describe would be the route I would likely take, given the complications a levergun presents. I went the re-bore route myself under these circumstances with a spoiled chamber. My way may not be his way, and I respect that.
