Okay. Midway brass. Case thickness at mouth is .0090”-.0095”
Case mouth with seated .361” bullet is .380”

So case mouth is just touching the bullet at that point. Subtracting .001 for the .360 bullet means that contact is reduced.

Can you chamfer a case mouth, seat a bullet, and then pull the bullet to see if damage is the same?

Don’t you love running all over the house to do this? This is when wives really ponder our sanity,

they start wondering when you grab their lap top and a big long cat cable and try dragging it into the other room.
then you find out the cable ain't long enough and come walking back in with a 1/2" drill bit and start measuring off the inside corner behind the TV set...

Aside from confirming our insanity to our spouses, this should be a general revival of the notion to never make assumptions about what a tool is ACTUALLY doing for or against the desired process.

Fiver, that is why I have the phone and iPad along with WiFi. I don’t even touch the wife’s laptop.

Wifi, man, wifi. Jumping up out of my easy chair in the middle of a show to run out to the garage in my sock feet and grab a mic, head to the reloading room to rummage arojnd furiously for ten minutes, then back to the chair to type for another ten minutes doesn't even get an eye roll from her anymore.

I frequently have digital calipers in front of the desktop computer with Quickload. Nothing worse than needing a measurement and not having the right tool on hand.

Am I the only one with bullets all over the house? Spent, new, or otherwise?

Well I’ll be damned. All I did was Chamfer the inside of the case mouth and deburr the outside and seated that same .361” bullet and presto!153C2D0A-D6EC-4564-9ACF-5391BF2A9B78.jpegstii a very round .361”

yep.

mine are confined to the new storage area, the gun room, and the garage.
there might be an errant bullet or two on the book case, in the truck or Bronco, and probably the Tahoe now that I think of it.

I bet I know what Waco is spending his weekend doing. At least you have a snazzy tool for chamfering case mouths.

it still looks a little rough on the bottom edge.
maybe a little roll crimp left over?

Just a fuzz too much. Neck tension holds the bullet, the crimp is more for assisting feeding and keeping the bullets from telescoping if you drop the rifle on its butt. I like to just barely tuck the mouth under the front band, not force it to the bottom of the groove or leave half the groove exposed. If your bullets are pulling under recoil in a revolver you need more case tension, not more crimp.

Okay back from shooting. Shot three ten shot groups at 50 yards. The first group was pretty bad. Right at three inches but pretty round.
The next ten shot group was a bit tighter but about three shots stringing vertical opened the group to just over three inches with seven of the 10 going into 1 1/2"
The third ten shot group was best. Minus a flyer nine shots went into 1 1/2"
This was a mixed head stamp brass. I think I'll sort out a bunch of the same and try again. I'll also go up and down on the powder a bit.
This was the Accurate 36-158-V loaded with 12.6gr 2400
