meh,, i don't care.
all i care about is if it makes good bullets.

if i had to pick one it'd be Lyman 4 cavity molds.

foolish me i oil all my molds even aluminum ones. i like an old freezer to store them.

I can't say it's "foolish," but don't understand the benefit - nor am I criticizing. I keep mine in an old freezer as well, which is great for moderating temp swings, and the propensity for dense cold stuff from "sweating when the air temp changes faster than the denser things.

If I get a chance to cast, it's spontaneous and short-lived. I've often just gotten moulds and alloy up to temp and have been called away only to return to the job weeks later. The clean-up time isn't THAT bad, but I like to keep the aluminum moulds just as they were when they were casting well, so I let them cool and put them away dry.

it's not too bad here either. [our humidity hangs out around 30%]
i just throw them in one of the drawers unless i'm gonna run it again then i just set it near or on the pot.
in the winter i have to put a big pot of water on the stove pretty often.
yeah,,, 4-5 foot of snow and not enough moisture.... LOL

Those of you that store your molds in a old freezer, I'd be very leery of storing your smokeless powder in there. For the last 6-7 years, I've been keeping the powders I use regularly (rest are stored underground, in an out building), in a old freezer in my basement shop. Couple of years ago, I open the freezer door and was hit by an acrid odor. The white plastic interior had turned yellow. The few plastic powder jugs, with metal caps, were starting to rust. Went through all the powders and discarded the suspect/suspects...............a couple of old oddball powders I had no intention of ever using again.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I use an old freezer too. I have a low wattage incandescent bulb in mine down near the bottom to help with the humidity and a big desiccant box. I did have one metal can of an IMR powder do the corrode from the inside out thing years back. Storing my animal meds in there was a bad thing to do though. I think I related the tale of the iodine leaking and causing a rust issue, a baaaaad situation! Trust me! Dead freezers are plentiful around here though. I'm turning one into an ammo storage locker too. The stuff is like gold these days, so I'd feel better if it was locked up.
