Mould to use in my .45 Auto Rim

I was looking through " stuff " on my reloading benches recently.
I found this late 1960's era, Lee single cav. mould.
The mould is no longer made by Lee.
I bought this mould years ago to cast bullets for my S&W Model 25-2.
I was shooting the bullets in 45 ACP cases and 45 Auto Rim cases.
As best I remember, they shot pretty well.
Cast nice and round at 4545".
I'll lube and size to .4515 " as usual.
The bullet has a nice wide meplat , which I like.
With lube, it tips the scale at 201 grs.
I wanted a Lyman 452423 , but they are hard to find.
I have about ten .452 moulds ( several of which are Lee, 6 cavity moulds ) , so this particular mould won't end up doing the majority of the leg work to feed my new Smith 625. I won't need to many of these.

I've gone to the H&G 200 grain semi-wadcutter and SAECO 954 235 grain for both .45 ACP and .45 Colt. Simplicity and I'll have several molds for sale soon.

That Lee looks awfully close to my 423... a bit shorter but should work great in your model 25.

With RCBS dies, I can swap back and forth with the RF and the SWC and require no change in powder setting or OAL. That makes it very convenient.

Somewhat by default I tend to load the Lee 230 grain truncated cone bullets in my model 625. I tend to grab this mould when I think of casting 45ACP/AR bullets. I do however have the NOE 452- 228-SWC mould and prefer this one in the 625. I just don't cast with it as much.

that looks like a slightly light 423.
i'd snag that one up in a heartbeat for the AR case.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
If you ever run across on the "45BD" group buy moulds, grab it! About perfect in the 45AR IMO.

While I have used a lot of the Lee 200 RF loaded in auto rim cases I wanted something different to shoot in my 625's and my 1955 Target. Back in 2016 NOE did a group buy for a copy of the Lyman 452491. 45-225-SWC. NOE 452 228 group buy This was just what I was looking for and got in on the group buy. This is a great bullet for loading in the auto rim case and my 1955 target really likes this bullet pushed a little faster than normal which is fine in the N Frame.

In the pic is a raw cast bullet and then one coated in HiTek/GC'd/sized ready to load.

I have given my S&W Model 625 (much like Ben's revolver) a LOT of shooting since it landed here 3 years ago. It sights are set to be dead-on with its carry loads (clipped WWB 230 JHPs) that clock about 875 FPS. Cast #452423s (242 grains in 92/6/2) hit practically on top of the J-words, run at 850 FPS. 185-200 grain bullets hit about 2" low run at 900-950 FPS, 250-264 grain bullets hit about 2 inches high at 800-825 FPS--all at 25 yards.

I have a single cavity IDEAL 452423 mold to use with a 25-2 6 1/2". I'm curious, what do the the "other three numbers" that are stamped in the mould represent?

If you see the same 3 numbers on both sides of the mould halves, these were numbers put on the mould during the production process to be certain the 2 mould halves didn't get separated.
