This one is headed my way.
It has pins for a deep HP, a penta point HP, and pins to make solids.

Being a brass mould, it will be HEAVY, but should make some nice bullets.
I think Brad is a fan of the " 640 " design.

The only bullet my Marlin 357 will shoot even decently. Great bullet for 357 mag.

At one time, I had a " 640 " in .44 cal.
This is my 1st one in 38/357 .

Brad, what do yours weigh with the
penta point ( like is seen in your photo above ) ?

161-162 gr cast from straight range scrap, call it 1.5 Sb, .25 Sn. Air cools to 12-13 BHn, heat treats to 18 BHn.

Great gullet Ben. They drop very well once the mould is hot. I use plenty of sprue plate lube on the sliding pins. I actually get tired from the rotating motion needed to drop them from the pins. No trouble at all to get 3-400 in a single session.

I have the 212 grr version in 358 that I use in my 358 Win. When you get the mold hot the bullets drop by simply opening the mold, doesn’t even need a tap. And Brad is correct, 3-400 a session is easy and your arm will recover in an hour or so.

Healing takes it's own time, nothing can hurry it. I have managed set it back by
pushing too soon. I learned that lesson once as a kid, and haven't
done it since. Waiting is pretty boring, and it's worse when you can't do what you
would like. Hang in there.

Yep, the pin the slides in the block. I use a damp q tip on the outside of the mould to lube the pins with the blocks closed. Maybe reapply every 50 pours? When the pins don’t slide like I want I apply more.

And those moulds want to be run hot, at least the pins do. Get the pins hot and bullets drop off easily. Just don’t open the mould too soon or the sliding pin tears the nose of the bullet a bit. I have plenty of those to show how I learned....

I flip the mold after cutting the sprue, then open and get 4 or 6 bullets just
sitting there on their bases, nice as you can hope for. Flip mold back over,
close sprue, refill. After a few seconds, sweep the bullets aside with gloved
hand, leave a new clear landing spot for the next mold full. Those are some
really efficient HP molds, just churning them out once you get the temps right.

I agree on the lube on the sliding pins.

Outside casting today with my MP 360640 HP Mould .
They weigh 150 grs. with the Penta Point HP Pins in place.
My mould DOES NOT have the double crimp ring.
The bullet as they drop from the mould are super round at .3590 "
I like the mould !

Not sure if I like the lighter weight or not. I DO like the single crimp groove. Easier to cast well and I don’t use the extra grooves anyway.

There are two different designs.
I reran both on the bullets forum.
The one Ben has is longer on the nose if memory serves me right .340 crimp to meplate. It is also lighter I think it weights in at 155 ish as a solid.
The dual crimp design is around 170 as a solid and has a short crimp to meplate for lever guns and smith n frames and a longer one for 38 special brass to extend capacity in the case.
I am not 100% sure on the crimp to meplate but I think it’s around .290ish on the short crimp and .335 on the long crimp

That bullet Ben just casted with the Penta pin is one of my most accurate revolver bullets if it fits in the cylinder in mag brass crimped in the groove.
I tried it in my n frame seated short and it did not shoot well.
Now it’s heavier brother shoots great in my n frame.

The heavier one is my best shooting 357 bullet for lever actions.

Unfortunately, I bought the mould used and knew little of the " details " that you guys are discussing.

For me, it is what it is !
