MP 360 640 HP

Recently, I purchased an MP 360-640 Brass, HP mould.
With the deep HP pins that are in the mould right now , it throws a 145 gr. HP that is .3595" in dia.
  • I can make deep hollow points ( like you see in the photos below ).
  • I can make solids.
  • I can make Penta-points.
No sticking on the HP pins. This mould will " rain HP's " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I pay a price in the fatigue category with heavy weight of the
brass mould, but the great bullets that it cast makes it all worth it.

These bullets will easily mushroom at .38 Spec. velocities.

The bullets are sized .3575" , lubed with Ben's Red and
rolled in a single coat of BLL.

What a fantastic design. Cast those of some really soft material and zing them out at 750 fps. Plus, they will look menacing from the "wrong" end of the cylinder.

Ha...:):):)...I think you guys are right on it.
It won't take a lot of velocity to make these mushroom.
Might be good in a 2" snub ? ?

you don't need a lot of speed to flatten those out.
you'll probably shear the nose off and push the base through as a deformed wad cutter [shrug] but you won't be losing any of the bullet out the backside of anything.
a lung shot from most any angle would have multiple wound channels.
I'd keep it off the sternum if possible, but I doubt the fight would continue for too much longer if one were placed there first.
the impact would probably knock the wind out of someone and take the fight out of them at the very least.

Most humans wouldn't have much going on after being hit in the sternum with a ball peen hammer at 750 fps, even if the bullet didn't penetrate their heavy coat. Some will remember the LEO daughter of one of our on-line forum friends getting popped twice in the chest by a gang-banger with a 9mm as she was exiting a doughnut shop. Though her body armor saved her life, she was still hurt pretty badly and took months to recover.

I have a steel plate with little pentagons on it because of a very similar bullet.

I've got that same mold.
The Penta Points, PC'ed with black are pretty awesome in .38 specials and very accurate.
Actually, I've got two molds like that. One drops 145 grain pentas and the other drops 125 grain pentas.
I use the heavier on in .357 mag and the lighter one in 9mm and .38 Spl.
