I just bought another mould.
I doubt that surprises anyone.:):):)
An 8 cavity aluminum MP mould .
158 gr. wide flat point , plain base, 38/357 dia.
This puppy should crank out some cast bullets.
The wide drive bands and wide meplat are appealing to me.

Here it is :

Here is a close up of the cavities, ( a bit blurry, sorry )

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Okay, I just got a case of "The Wants"!!! Nice mould Ben. I wasn't aware anyone was making anything larger than a Lee 6 cav any more. Thanks for the info!

I bought this one from Max, ( Wasalmonslayer ) , yesterday.
I don't know much about it ?

Maybe Max will step in and shed some light on this one ?

Nice!
I have one MP 8-cav myself, the 312-159 "Hunter" plain base, solid. The mould (and bullet) has worked very well for me!
Have fun, Ben! It wouldn't surprise me if you could get it to shoot in a variety of guns!

These 8 cavity molds can be difficult to use. They are really close together as you see. Sometimes the lead pours over into the next cavity. You can get a spot on that cavity that does not fill all the way. And it will leave a divot in the sides of the bullet. At least on the 3 different 8 cav I have got. But boy does it crank out the bullets

That borders on being a wadcutter.
Might lower the pot temp a little to keep that one from overheating.

I finally picked up a MP 8 cavity and I really like it. I got one to make heavy (155 gr) smooth sided bullets for my 9mm revolver. No lube grooves so the bullets jump out of it while casting and 8 cavities really cranks out the bullets.

I'm not into powder coat, but that is a beautiful mould.

It is a great mould. The coating is actually the Hi-Tek from Australia. I do PC also but Like the Hi-Tek for coating larger quantities of pistol bullets.
