Must be Thursday

Yep, checked the calendar and then verified with my hunting notes. Seems, I only see legal bucks on Thursdays.

Maybe I should just stay in the warm bed, every day but Thursday.

The last four Thursdays mornings, I've seen the only legal bucks on my property, while hunting. Nothing, the rest of the week.

Thursday, October 18th............ Rattled in a decent buck but couldn't get a shot off, with the X-bow.

Thursday, October 25th..............took an 8 point with the muzzleloader.

Thursday, November 1st............passed up a nice 7 or 8 point buck with X-bow, cause it was raining. Just took his picture.

Thursday, November 8th...........passed up a decent 6 point while hunting with the X-bow. Here are some photos I took, instead.

Legal shooting time is a half hour before sunrise...........this time of year, that's about 6:10 AM.

I wake about 4 AM, without an alarm.

I do the same thing. Let them try to grow to 4-1/2 to 6-1/2 years old, get some size.
Trouble is, I let them go, next day, someone else brings them to camp in the back of a truck!
The only way young deer get to be Old Stags is to let them grow.
Just can't convince everyone on my lease.

I showed the picture of the first buck to the wife. She said he must have some coon blood in him.
