I understand that the Berger bullets are of good quality. I was just trying to show what a guy was able to do with a rifle he has $300 in after the rebate including the vortex crossfire scope.

Quality bullets or not when you work up 2 loads with different powders and average 3/4” 100yd groups the rifle maker is doing something right.

For sure the rifle maker is doing something right, especially at that price point. Wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall at some of these corporate rifle/scope package deal meetings? IIRC Nikon and Savage were in bed together for a while offering bargain-basement, turnkey combos that would shoot pretty dang well.

The best "tracking" scope I've ever dinked with is our shop mule. It's a straight 6X,44mm objective,"Trashco".Tube is deadnuts straight.Easy to set parallax.

Lenses aren't that good but it'll repeat on a box test to the umpteenth degree,go figure?

Regular $479.00
Sale $379.00
Factory rebate of $75.00
That puts the rifle at $304.00

I GOT MY $75 REBATE TODAY, Mailed the claim form to T/C on Dec. 16th 2017 . I received my $75 , today Feb. 16, 2018.
Not as fast as I wanted............., but it still puts me with only $304 in a fine rifle.
