My new dipping furnace.

Last year I got a new 40lb bottom pouring lead furnace from Stephan (sandman15) in Germany which was a real buy and has being making excellent bullets for me ever since, see here:

40lb pouring pot

I have been ladle dipping from a PID controlled Lyman 10 lb pot, I like to have the temperatures in my casting process as consistent as possible (melting pots run trough PIDs and thermometer fitted moulds), being only 10lb capacity the Lyman has its limitations, so I have been looking at larger capacity dipping pots, RCBS have just released their new Easy Melt with built in PID at 25lbs capacity which I am looking to try and acquire an example of. However I also thought I'd see if Stephan did such things so a couple of emails later and this 40lb PID controlled beauty is on order.

Delivery should be middle of next month as he will need to get a Fahrenheit PID in for me.

Pwoarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

That's quite interesting. Looking forward to what you think of it after you've used it.

Is it just me or does that look an awful lot like the Magma pot?

Looks like a fine piece of kit

So who agreed with me?

Oh, wait, you meant you are a great mind. Sorry, my bad.

These pots are real value for money, the bottom pour pot I bought from Stephan last year cost me £450 delivered, a Magma Master Pot with PID which I would have to fit would cost me around £1000 with carriage, duty and vat.

The dipping pot will cost me only a tad less than the pouring pot but the pound/euro exchange rate has moved since then.

Was that £450'withnthe PID? Either way thst isn't a bad price for a pot of that quality.
I am shocked at how much more the Magma with PID would be for you compared to what my wife paid last Christmas. Mine was around $800 which would be around £560. Shipping and taxes are the killer.

That looks like a clean, well constructed unit to me. I think you got a winner there!
