Meopta scopes are known for very good optical and mechanical quality, at reasonable prices (compared to german top-class optics).
This has a steel tube, very rugged. The idea is to match it to the auto mag barrel, where the reticle can be useful.

Shot the auto mag again today. Still sizing .431 (all I’ve tried, so far). Expanded the case mouths using the NOE .433x.429 plug. I managed to botch the expander adjustment (again!), putting to little flare on the first cases. This showed on the target!
But I readjusted the expander die halfway through the reloading process- and was rewarded with the best group, so far. This is the Lachmiller 429-250 SWC/GC (actually it is 431-265 in my alloy). 18grs Viht N110. Jam fit, no crimp. S&B large pistol standard primers. Pan/tumble lube. 100m, from prone position, support on a bag. 5 shots, about 1,5MOA.
So, still making progress with the auto mag. I’ll let it rest a little now, I’m very curious how the other barrels shoot! Next barrel out, is the .30-06 4C9AA675-0E56-4B3F-95DD-B82A0CC24CC6.jpeg

just a reminder.
a 1-1/2" group with a 44 or 45 is really the holes all pretty much touching each other.
compare that to a 22 or 30 cal group where all the holes are basically touching and your looking at a 1/2 or 3/4" group size.

First trip with the .30-06 barrel today. Gave it a good cleaning, shot five foulers, and then this group with MP312-159HP and Norma 200, 25,5grs. Shot from prone with support on a bag, 100m, 30˚F (coffee got cold). Shot a few other groups as well, both «probable performers», and new/unknown loads. Very encouraging results. Brought my brother to the range today, he hasn’t shot a rifle in many years. He left with a huge smile (and plans for rifle purchase, I think ). I think this will be a tack driver, the limitation being my skills as a shooter and caster.

I’m one happy camper! This rifle is turing out to be what I hoped it would. It is really comfortable to shoot. There is a downside, though. I let my brother shoot it today, and I am pretty sure he’ll have to buy a similar rifle himself . Down the rabbit hole, he goes!

So, time for the 6,5x55 semi- heavy Varberger barrel to show its teeth. 22F, fresh snow on the ground, sunshine, no wind. A beautiful winter morning! My new barrel seems to like the Arsenal moulds 266- 92gc. In fact, my other two 6,5- rifles like it as well. In my other rifles, 15grs N110 is the «sweet spot», while 16 grs is beyond the wall. Shot some groups with 15grs, they were OK (1,5MOA 5- shot groups @100M, prone position/bag). Then 15,5 and 16grs, just to see how the bullet tolerated that level. 16 grs turned out great. Had a flier. I was fighting some mirage at this time, so don`t know if it was me. (The two overlapping icons are actually three hits, so 4 shots about 1/2MOA, and the flier opening up a little to about 1MOA)

I also tried N120, which I have never tried with this light bullet. I tried 18 grs, which was my guesstimated pressure- equivalent to my former «15grs N110» sweet spot. Not bad at all, but maybe I can up the charge a little

These bullets were with what I`d call «minor imperfections». Many of them had a little mould seams, and they were not perfectly balanced. I`m working on my casting skills these days, trying to cast better bullets. These were cast by my «former self» :)
This barrel is still new. No jacketed bullets through it, yet. I tihink I´ll get a lot of fun out of this!

California version.

How true!
The Castro Valley range got shut down a few? Years ago.
I have Lots of memories there. 200 yard millitary matches, rifle, pistol, skeet.
Mithbusters filmed Lots of episode's there.
LE used it for all kinds of stuff.

Nice shooting & cool toy spindrift. !!!
