Need a little help. Half a case is not good enough

Need some help in removing the front half of a fired case fron a chamber. I had one separate about half way up the case today. When worked bolt a piece just a little longer than a 9mm came out. I have tried the brush method with no joy. Any ideas or suggestions.

The one time it happened to me, the brush method didn't work till the next day after the metals had returned to room temperature.

Maybe put a liberal amount of Kroil down the bore and let it sit for a day????

A little ball of 5-minute epoxy putty rolled down inside the case and tamped slightly into the case neck should adhere well enough to let you knock it out with a cleaning rod. Something else that should work is a product called "freeze-off" by CRC, it's a combination penetrating oil and chewing gum remover that will super-cool the part you hose down with it for a few seconds, possibly allowing the brush method to work better if you stuck the straw into the chamber and froze the case.

a can of air like you use for your keyboard held upside down blows out super cold air and has a hose on the end to reach up in the chamber.

the inside of a 223 case is about .325 or thereabouts a wood dowel about that size with some super or hot glue will generally set up and pull the case out.

That happened to me once, with an AR-15. The following round tried to chamber, it lodged in the neck of the broken one and then pulled it out when I pulled the operating handle back.

if you use Cerrosafe
make sure , everywhere you do not want it, fill with modelling clay
had cerrosafe flow into an extractor on a Rolling Block
barrel removal was the only way to clean it out of the extractor groove and the threads

Tried roil, brush, and CFC freezing spray with no joy, shell extractor should be on site tomorrow along with bar of Cerrosafe. I really hate the thought of removing barrel and am saving for last resort. Will keep thread posted on progress.

I think Cerrosafe works well too.
Ok guys I did my first try using Cerrosafe And no joy. I had cleaned the inside of the brass with carb spray cleaner and let dry over night before pouringresulted in good looking chamber cast showing half a case pressed very very smooth into chamber. Almost tempted to try rat tail file but with my luck it would break or I would scar chamber and totally ruin a sweet shooting barrel. Any ideas?

Take a piece of brass rod about 1/4" diameter and long enough to reach from the throat of the chamber to the rear of the stripped action. File a long angle on one end of the rod to come to a sharp point at the "muzzle" end of the rod. With the action held in a padded bench vise, use a light hammer to tap the sharp end of the rod between the case and the chamber, just as though you were using a chisel on a piece of wood. Since the rod is brass, it won't hurt the chamber. The case will fold into the interior of the chamber, and you should be able to get it out with a cleaning rod and bronze brush. It may even come out when you remove the brass rod.

Took to local gun smith, he tried a number of things and finally used a 1/4 in easy out and it came right out but did require taping from muzzle with cleaning rod

Broken case extractor. I have made them custom for a particular bullet diameter,
not handy like the military ones, but still pretty easy. Push up in, the teeth snag the
neck and you pull it out or knock out with a ramrod.
