I've killed more deer than I haven't with a 2-moa rig.

Bll may bring it together. Flyers at high speed is usually a balance problem creeping up somehow or erratic bore condition.

Balance and weight variance are problems I've wondered about since I never weight sorted them. It's odd though that most of the flyers are horizontal. Might be some parallax issues with the old Fullfield II. I probably should swap some scopes around, but hate to leave a rifle without a scope. I just have a thing about every rifle being ready to go.
Hadn't thought about BLL on the PC, it's worth a try

Actually haven’t tried yet. Got some turkeys hanging around and don’t want to chase them off till the grandkids get a crack at them

I'm a newbie to this smokeless rifle thing, but have done a fair bit of shooting. But I'm no expert so don't interpret this as anything other than thoughts based upon what you have said so far.

You say your primary problem is vertical stringing. But you have made no mention of velocity variation. I assume you are shooting over a chronograph since you know the velocity. Are you seeing velocity differences that line up with your vertical flyers? The other possibility is changing light conditions. Are your shooting sessions on overcast days or days where the clouds and sun come an go?

not at all sure I'm not fighting some parallax. Nope, parallax isn't any different than the Mil scope marks - corrects for difference in optic bore center line and rifle bore center line. I've heard many times horiz. is below a node and vertical is above but doesn't make sense to me. For vertical, based on fps (1600-2400)
only and gravity drop. 200 fps diff. = 0.01" at the target. Even tripling the gravity fps (32*3 to simulate the vel. vector downward due to air resistance and changing BC) doesn't cause it.
Point is, large stringing is gun, shooter or setup.

Haven't watched close enough to correlate shot sequence and chronograph readings yet. Actually haven't shot in quite a while, happily the Grandsons got their turkeys so if and when the wind and weather calms down some I can get started again.

Thanks Ian, the 8 year old book worm was wound up! 410 break action with TSS shot at 10 yards got the job done. My son posted a picture on facebook for the extended family and it even made Ted Nugents page.

Grandpa tends to think all his grandkids are special but the s one has proven it. IQ tested at 150+, he comes home from school most days unhappy that they didn’t do enough math. The outdoor pursuits aren’t all that high on his list

That apple didn't fall too far from the tree. Strong work on the turkeys, young men
