John, I got a set of those for my Officer's Model in smooth. They are every bit as good in person as they are in the pics. I prefere the smooth look and feel but that's me. I believe you will really like them if you get a set,
I've had a couple 1911 guns in the past, both had checkered grips. I'm just not crazy about the feel of smooth grips on a 1911.
I will wait and shoot this RIA a couple times before I order the those grips.
