New Lee Powder measure

I use a lot of Lee Pistol Dies.
As most of you know, Lee Pistol Dies have the expander built into the die and that die takes a Lee Powder measure.
I've used the Lee Dis measure in the past, but for me there were a few problems :

(1) They are all " jerky".
(2) With fine grain powders, most leak pretty bad.
(3) Having to use their disc, seems the load that I wanted to throw was never available with their disc., I could get close, but not the charge I wanted.

The new Lee Powder measure , so far, seems to be totally free of these 3 problems.
Comes with a small measuring drum and a large drum.
Small drums for charging 25 ACP to 223 Remington, large drums for charging the 223 Remington to Large Magnums. Also include an insert to allow reduced capacity charging similar to smaller drum.
In the photos below it is set for 3.8 grs. of Clays with a 212 gr. W/C in .44 Special.
I like it !

Thanks, Ben, I've been waiting for a trustworthy estimate of that measure's usefulness before jumping off into one myself. FYI I have seven Lee disc measures representing all types through the years and have learned to effectively deal with most of their little quirks...or ways to fix some of them. Still, I always thought a drum was a better idea.

Ian,

You'll love this thing.
If you choose to spend $35 on one, there is a small modification
that I did to mine that I'll share with you.
Makes a good measure even better...........

When you close the ram on the press, two things happen :

(1) The neck of the case is flared to accept the cast bullet.
(2) At the same time, the powder charge is thrown.

You have infinite adjustments on the exact quantity of powder thrown, unlike the
Lee disc measures where you are locked into whatever they can throw, ( whether
you want that or not )

The key, does it release the drum, or adjust it? Is the key left in the measure while in use?
With the quantity of gremlins in my loading room. I am afraid of one of them making off with the key.

OK, what's the modification? I haven't ordered one yet, but it's on my short list...

Yes, it is the feature that prevents double charging.
Made my measure erratic.
Once removed , mine ran fine.

The key is to adjust the measure. Each drum comes with a key. In time you should have a 1/2 dozen of them.
