Just joined the group. Been a member of the ASSRA and CBA forum for several years. Got introduced to cast bullets when I started the schuetzen game and have never looked back. Now shooting cast in all my rifles, from .22hornet up to 375H&H. One of the greatest joys is I have a 10yr old grandson that is getting interested in the shooting sports. You all have a great day.

Welcome to the forum.
The hornet and 375 H&H are both excellent cast shooters. I'm starting to get ready to see how fast I can get some 275 gr bullets in my 375.

My 375 is a Ruger #1, I breech seat a tapered bullet(275gr) at a 25:1 mix. Using sr4759, accuracy is excellent at 100yds. Rifle shoots better than the fella behind it. Best I have ever got with a 5shot group at 100yds is .603". All the planets and the moon were aligned properly that day. Wish I could do that all the time, but when breech seating it will consistently put 5 at 100yds under an inch. Rifle has been tweaked, Kepplinger set trigger, barrel and forend been relieved.

Breech seating is something most of us have never attempted. Would be interesting to see a rite up and photos of your process.

Will try and get something together in the future and some pics. Basically a tapered bulllet is seated ahead of the case in the barrel.

You really need to show more photos of the rifle in your avatar. Looks like one hell of a nice stock.

his write up could share some light on that tapered base bullet and loading from the muzzle, discussion we had not too long ago.
I'd be real interested in seeing it.
floating the forearm on a number-1 is also something I'd like to know a bit more about.
welcome aboard sir.

Welcome......

I've done breech seating so I would ask to see your tool for doing it...

I agree with "fiver" above as well. We had good discussions going on both these subjects as well!

Here is a pic of two of the breech seaters I use. The top one is for my Ruger #1, and works on a camming action to seat the bullet ahead of the case. The other is a straight line seater that I use in my CPA's
Maybe in the future will start a new topic on the forum, rather than staying in the "new member"
