I have loved the MP 358-200 since Tommeboy lent me the mold a while Back. I had been waitin and requesting MP make more ever since. Few months back he did and I grabbed a 2 cav Brass cause its what he released first. I wanted a 4 cav.
Well he has had the 220g version and I passed wanting the 200.
Well today over on the site that shall not be named I happened along just after this 359-220 was posted! I snapped it right up before I could talk myself out of it!! It the 4 cav and brass. I know most of you said I was better with the 2 cav for weight. But I dont mind the weight and appreciate the extra cavities.
The mold looks great and eas cast with twice. I should have asked why the sale. I have tracking and if he didnt get it out today he will Tomorrow.

Congrats!
I have both the MP 200, and 220 molds (GC versions, both). I like them a lot. I haven't found stellar accuracy in my Whelen yet, but 1,5MOA at 100m is easily achieved, and really sufficient for the typical use of such a load.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Sweet! I can't think of anything in the Northeast that will walk away after getting ker-schmucked with one of those!

I've said before that I have finally attained my optimum set of moulds (ended up being ten), but I AM shy on the HP/Cup-Point variety.

I need to pick at least ONE 30 and one 35 cal mould to have at least one cavity HP'd, especially after looking at these pics.

Maybe I miss some notable post before, @CWLONGSHOT , but what did you shoot those out of?

Mostly have been shot in 357 Max and 358 Win.

Loaded to 357 Max, 35Rem and top velocity testing alloys to find optimal.

Ah! That's exactly what my intentions are - 357 Max, which I have, with the option to maybe employ the 35 Remington case or 358W case later.

Still slowly slogging through the 357 MAG trials, so no idea when I'll get to the 357 Max barrel.

Thanks.

Mold came today!!

I believe its gonna be OK. It was quite a mess... looked to have taken a dunking in lead. 25-30% of the HP pin holes was full if lead... Lead all over in spots outside. It was also badly leaded across the top plate and between cavities.

Got is mostly cleaned up and washed. Gonna do a quick video as its a long time want and favorite.

Was said to be casted twice. I asked about problems but was not answered. My guess is it wasn't seasoned and didn't provide good bullets for the Previous Owner.

Mold came with "solid point" pins and small HP pins. Top punch and both wrenches.

Brass molds are not like casting in aluminum molds. And it really messes with people because they want instant gratification. It is not as easy as a Lee mold to use. But some Lee molds are harder to use than brass ones. Iron molds are different as well.

It will clean up. Just depends on how well you want it clean.
