Don't hunt anymore but my old Sako 75 hunter in 30-06 should do well with cast bullets. Loves the Nosler Ballistic 165 grain at 2900 fps and suprise, suprise loves some LC63 M72 Match as well. And the funny thing is between the two no changes in scope settings. Any suggestions for an Accurate mold bullet number?. Have IMR 4895,IMR 4759, Unique and IMR 4227, and 2400. When I had the smith install a pachmayer recoil pad he commented on the nice walnut in the Sako's stock. Frank

I bought my three lug SAKO in 338 magnum in a Rod and Gun Club in Germany for $60.00 in 1968. Still got it. Lead bullets in the distant future.

I think that member Winelover has experience loading cast in .338 Win Mag.

Thanks, I'll keep this infor for future reference. The gun remains in excellent condition and should do well. Years ago rifle did well with old style 300 grain Barnes J bullets. It should stabilize most anything. Take care and be safe.
