i'm on 2 other cast bullet sites. but this one with the machine section makes it great. i have a south bend heavy 10 ; and this winter or earlier i am probably going to get a PM mill. been looking at craiglist ; 2-5 different cities twice a day for probably 2 years. looking for "old american iron) bench mill . just missed a couple of good deals. but getting tired of looking; so, probably going with PM. i live about 40 miles away from them

Welcome to the forum. Keith is our foremost authority on machining. I can do a fair to middlin' job of filling in the gaps.

If you do end up with a PM mill you'll be in good company, as Brad is awaiting delivery on one.

Oh, I think Smokey underestimates himself. He is a very accomplished machinist. Keith just happens to have an operating shop and has an educators touch when explaining.
Once Smokey gets settled in some new digs he will be back up and running.

Smokey is a really sharp guy, I've learned several neat things from him. He has probably worked on a larger variety of stuff than I have; I'm betting I've a little more experience in mass production. Either way I hope you share the things you do with us, and feel free to kick in your comments on what we post here.

I used a friend's Heavy 10 for a number of years, before he upgraded to a Hardinge,
and I got a Grizzly G4003G. You can do a lot with the heavy 10.
