Yeah, usually.

A day and a half of wheelchair living was ENOUGH. I resumed two-footed life a few minutes ago with a few adjustments, and things are better. A concept that still hasn't fully formed in my mind--that the tech guy mentioned on my visit 10 days ago--is that I am a relatively NEW amputee. (18 months?) OK, if you say so. The thing needs to be adjusted and played with, mostly by its user. I tend to install it when i get up and just hit the streets, and maybe I should give it a bit more attention and adjustment. No worries, folks.

Yep, Allen, you ain't healed up just because the stitches are out. Too many birthdays, dieBEETus, and high mileage make it and adventure. I got my first taste of thudding instead of bouncing back and I don't like it one bit either!

It ain't the age or the miles so much as it is the roads traveled .
I've met a few people 30 and wondered how they could walk at all .
I used to work with a lady 75 I'd have bet a payday wasn't a day over 55 .
Then there's me and I'm in perfect health for a man of twice my age .

What I don't get is why some times I heal up before the pixels dry on the ouch report and a paper cut will annoy me for weeks . The worst is the is the injury I don't know how I got and don't notice until it starts the itchy part of healing .........

Should I ever find myself an insulin diabetic I give me 18 months to dole out the estate and pick a nice plot over looking 9 counties in Nevada . Diet and meds I could manage , infection would no doubt be my end .

Will not have too many funerals to go to; death rate for people of 75 in my county are 3 times normal. Lots of rooms open in the assisted living and nursing homes right now.

Our county of 204,000 population have +5,000 cases and over 200 deaths. Bad things happening here, but since masks required three weeks ago, cases have gone from 175+ per day to less than 50 each of the last 7 days.

We're probably only 8000 or so here but masks are still optional mostly too . The latest is a single family .
While I hate to say it there were a whole lot of 103+ fevers , dry coughs etc in mid December through late January here . Unfortunately it also paralleled the chimney sinus and flu seasons . The big difference is I've only had a flu bug that put me shivering in a blanket maybe 7-8 times in 53 years this bug did it 3 times before it cleared . The bark cleared almost immediately after the last fever break too . None of went to a Dr because it just didn't last as a whole . We'd be achey , pop and break a fever , then be good for a couple days then get hit again . The second to me around we wiped down everything with Clorox at 4% from the steering wheels to dresser drawer pulls . If it hadn't cleared then we'd have gone in ....... Don't know what to do with it now .

At large, whereabouts unknown.
From the Nebraska Health Dept site: Total tested to date- 299,967. Total lab confirmed cases- 28,245. Total related deaths- 345. Statewide.
Lancaster County- 510 lab confirmed cases out of 48,000 tested. 17 deaths so far. For reference, Lancaster County has a little over 350,000 residents.

And our Mayor has us on high alert, masks required plus other restrictions.
