Newest obsidian knife.

Made this guy over the last few days. Double flow obsidian from Glass Buttes Oregon. Blacktail deer antler.

Added a silver sheen obsidian cabachon to the handle to dress it up a bit. Set with pine pitch.

Your first photos didn't show it well but now I see the mahogany obsidian tip, I guess that's why it's called "double flow"? Pretty cool rock.

How big of a rock did you start with?
Could you see the different colors before you started knapping?

Yes. The colors were visible. The rock was about 7” or so in diameter. I then cut it into 1/4” slabs, traced out the blade shape, cut, grind, then knap.
