At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Heck of a lot more money than I'd pay for a 43. Nice enough gun, but not that nice!

That's insane, plan and simple.
As Bret said "nice enough gun, but not that nice". But the 43 is a utility, economy gun.

I recall that the old Kimber company made a few of their bolt rifles in 25/20 WCF. I can only imagine the prices such examples might bring if a Win M-43 fetches such exorbitant tariffs.

The 218 Bee, 25/20 WCF, and 32/20 WCF were and are delightful little calibers. They have been somewhat superseded by the 223 and 22-250 for varmint whacking, but so too have a lot of great rat strafers--the 222 Remington being among those. It isn't a whole lot less capable than the commersh-version 223 Rem, just as the 300 Savage runs really close to the 308 Winchester. But the using services wanted what they wanted, so they got it, and we live with it. I just work here......

I have stood by the 25/20 and 32/20 more out of stubborn spite than by admiration of their capabilities. Mostly--I like the leverguns they came in. There will not be many non-toxic bullets getting made to service these rifles, so as hunting arms my rifles and handguns in these calibers are now 8-track tape decks in CA. But that is whole 'nother rant.

So far, Allen, the exits are still open from Cali.:) If the irritation to joy ratio starts getting inverted...
