I got a new scope in the mail today. This is my third Nikon scope. My two other Nikon scopes have impressed me, with optical and mechanical quality out of proportion to the prize.

This was a very lightly used 5-20x44, with Ballistic drop reticle. The prize was very nice! It comes with three turret options. Low, closed turret. High, closed turret- or high, open. 1/8 MOA/click.

The optics blew me away! The clarity and contrast is comparable to my swarowski and Zeiss scope!

The 5-20 is a pretty specialized scope. I will be used for range work.

Very happy with my purchase!

Ps Couldn’t get the reticle in focus with my phone cam.

Having played with some of Nikons cameras and lens it didn't surprise me that Nikon could make a nice scope. I've had about a half dozen Nikon scopes and still have four (a couple of 4X, 3-9X and a 6-18X) and they've all been very good. It did surprise me when they quit the scope business though. The 3-9X Nikon that I have has a similar reticle that's set up for the 223/5.56. Nice find there.

Nice!! Especially if you got it for a good prize.

I though I'd give Athlon scopes a try recently. They have a Argos 2 X 12 that looked good at a reasonable price. So it finely came and I got it mounted it on a rifle. While I wanted the higher magnification of the 12 power, I wanted a wide field of view at the low end. 57 feet on 2 power in a scope I could afford. I was impressed with the clarity.
Which brings me to your 5 X 20. I liked the 2x12, but I was also looking for a 20 power scope for a bolt gun in 223. I have a cheap 6x24 that's, shall I say is just cheap. Looking for a upgrade. In the Argo line they offer a 4x20 for a reasonable price. So one is coming. I should see that one early next week and hope to give both a try on the weekend. Weather allowing.
