This one is quickly becoming one of my favorite .30 Cal. plain base bullets.
Fantastically accurate in my 30-30 T/C Pistols, Handi Break Open 30-30's,
308 Win. and 30-06 rifles.

Certainly not my favorite hunting bullet in .30 cal., but for paper punching and training my grandson, Trevor, it is hard to beat.

I never shot any plain base ones. Only checked. Are you just tumble lubing them Ben?

When I ran them over 2200fps I ran them with conventional lube and tumble lubed them also. Sometimes. Depended on the temp outside.

Do you have any targets for us to see with this bullet is capable of? I know I would love to see.

Of late, the bullet ( plain based version ) is lubed with Carnuba blue then rolled in BLL.

This is 50 yards, three rounds, 30-30 Win. Handi rifle, 7.2 grs. B'Eye.

What does the front part of the nose measure, Ben? I assume WW +2% tin for your alloy.

probably want the front and the middle before the convex taper.

I have been thinking about something like this with just a tiny little paradox shape in there only shrunk down to around 135grs.

anyhow.
I like the design, it shows someone is listening about how to make bullet designs better.

You are very welcome Ian.
The bullet shoots real well out of MANY of my .30 cal. rifles.

Four people gave me ideas on this bullet when Al first started his web forum site to do custom moulds. I started off with the K31 design. Larry suggested the 2 shallow lube groves as they were working really well with the xb design. Then Five and Ian with the 308 seat angle and length for the 308 win to keep the check in the neck. Then I wanted around 190gr so that was what I came up with for length.

So there is the whole history for this design. I asked a lot of ?'s outside of the normal open forums. The whole idea was a plinking bullet. Al named it "Hunter" I don't know where he came up with that???

But if Ben gives it a glowing review! I can take that as a Heck YES! Ben has always been one of the ones I have looked to when it came to what I want my 30 cal guns to shoot like.

I talked to Ed Harris the other day. He has one of my other designs for one of his Mosins. I am waiting to hear how it works for him. He ordered it as a plain base too.
