I tend to be pretty fond of a shoulder roast with carrots, taters, and onions. I avoid shoulder shots like the plague. I prefer a through and through in the ribs just behind said shoulder roast. Last years buck was a little farther back than I like. He stepped as I pulled the trigger, but the results were good. Here's a picture of the blood trail. Note the spray on both sides of the track.

Was a continuous pattern like this for @30 steps to where he fell. He went down at the shot also.
Here is a picture of the kind of stuff I hunt in. This is a fresh slash just cut in a storm damage area. If you look close at the center of the picture, near the turned up stumps, there is a spike buck standing there. This is a picture I took about 20 minutes after I shot and field dressed my deer, and sent to my son who was hunting about 40 miles away with my grandson. My buck came into the slash on the same trail and was standing just about where this buck is. My buck is laying @ 30 yards into the slash when I took the picture. I'm just figuring out how to get pictures where I want them from my new phone. LOL

that is what a blood trail should look like, and is why I like flat nose bullets and 2 holes.

Thanks Ben. Used a copy of your lube with a little more BW. Sent 25 rounds downrange yesterday and just a slight lube star. I'm filling all but the crimp groove.Ran a patch down the bore, and barely any discoloration on the patch. Bore shining like a new penny.

That is great.
That is the kind of lube report that I love to hear.
