UUmmm, that sounds as if it is probably well past any attempts to revive it........ However, thanks for the offer.

I may give it a go.
The top of the mould could have a light cut taken to smooth it. A sprue plate isn't that much from Red River Rick. Heck, I may even give it a go to make one.
The screws for the handles could be an issue but if need be could be milled off. New holes could be drilled and tapped near the old location.
Cavities could get a light polishing to see what they can do.

I don't own an 8mm so I may need help from Ben on that part.

PM your mailing address Brad. I'm leaving for a couple weeks Wednesday, but headed to the post office tomorrow. Better yet I can put it in a USPS regional and mail it when I get there. That would be about half the distance mailed from SD.

Got it. Take some pictures if you think about it. I'm not sure I'll have internet where I'm going. Have fun!!

that rusted mold could possible be a candidate for either lapping out to a very light 338 bullet or get it recut to a 338 or possibly a 356 sized bullet if there is another meat in the mold between the cavities. I don't think it will ever be a viable 8mm mold again after the rust monster hit it.

If it is the standard size Lyman 4 cavity it could easily be recut to anything up to .45, maybe bigger. Still be a lot of work but possible.
