NOE , 4 cav. 45 cal. Mould Specs call for a 155 gr. bullet. @ 454 " dia.
Not so here on my end of things.
Mine that I cast today weigh 168 grs. with lube.
Bullets drop round at about .4538"
Those numbers are OK. Might even shoot a bit better being slightly heavier. My 1st loads will be 4.2 grs. of TiteGroup in 45 Auto Rim Brass in my Smith Model 625 revolver. Should be a nice target load.
My grandson Trevor shoots a good bit at 15 - 20 yards. Might be a
good load for him ? ?

Many thanks to Richard for selling me a very nice mould :

There are " culls " in this batch of bullets. Some will end up in the " Re-Melt Can ".

I hope it works out well. I just needed to start paring down stuff that I don't have a real good reason to have and really didn't need it. Glad it cast well, I never used it and would have felt bad if it had been a lemon.

I'm interested in how it works out. I was looking at that mold on NOE's website about the time richdog66 posted it. I'm shooting quite a bit @ 25 and 50yds and the Lyman doesn't cut it for those distances.

A few of you wanted to know how the bullet shoots.
My grandson Trevor and I went to the range with the Smith Model 625.
He shot the 168 gr. SWC with 4.2 of TiteGroup in 45 Auto Rim brass. Some carbon on the outside of the brass , but it shot accurately. ( See target below ---- 6 rounds at 15 yards free hand ).

I think I'll increase the charge.

My custom Lyman 165gr in my new barreled Gold Cup shot good 4.4, 4.5, and 4.6gr. I loaded 48 @ 4.5gr to Go for a proof trial.

I looked at that mould and got all excited. Then I recalled some shooting I’d done with one about 15 years ago. Looked at my tests and decided I liked the “whap! Of a a 230 grain cast round ball “clone “ over a lightweight. Or my 454190HP.
As a result, I let the rabbit go down that hole and good luck to him./beagle

I dan't have the experience some of you guys do, but I really can't see my liking a light .45 bullet much better than the 452488. It was Dad's favorite when he was a serious Bullseye shooter in his Gold Cup, but it seems to wirk well in every gun, revolvers included.
