Not familiar with NOE website.
Is there any part of it that tells what he has in stock?
Tried to find a mold for me Swede 96 but nothing.

You have to find what bullet you want to look at and click on it. Once you get to that page, there will be a wide selection of options for that bullet like PB, GC, HP, 2, 3, 4C, etc.

I see no version of the one I randomly chose being available, which is why I own ONE NOE mould. The one I did buy, I had to modify to make what I wanted. I have since that time (several years ago) not seen a single mould in stock that I wanted. Maybe bad timing on my part, but I just stopped looking there after a few years of trying.

They are great moulds, I just don't understand why you can't get so many of the wonderful options listed.

I scan the NOE website every few weeks, have a few designs I'm interested in. I own 6-8 NOE molds and have been pleased enough except they tend to run large.

Nothing I want has been in stock for at least 6 months. Out of stock. I think this guy's motto is "look at all the cool molds you could buy if I ever made them".

I've bought Arsenal molds and been pleased. I'm headed to Accurate next, I would like molds made the way my rifles like them some time this century. Delivery time has value to me.

Bullets, powder , primers and moulds are all in short supply right now.
Al Nelson at NOE deserves no more criticism than other manufacturers who cannot supply the unprecedented demands of shooters and reloaders right now.

I visit a lot of vendors web sites that specialize in the sale of shooting products. Seeing " Out of Stock " isn't an unusual thing right now.

I have been waiting for an "in stock" order for two expanders. Put in an order on Nov. 26. I have January 14th as my expected delivery date. I usually don't mark that down until I am told. So It was communicated to me thru them somehow.
Figure 8 or 9 weeks is pretty on par for a small over pressed shop, for an in stock item.
Even longer for custom. Especially if the hands on everything.
We need to be patient and support these small guys. When it goes all down hill they may be our only choice. They are fellows like us just trying to get by, in this crazy mess.
On the 14th of January, I will wait 7 more days and then give them a call. If I get my stuff before then will let you fellows a know.

Thing is we have become so spoiled with the system when it worked that when things become bottled up we get antsy. Instant everything is not always a good thing.;)

Al's kind of been like that all along.
he makes some of this and some of that on a semi schedule.
i don't know how he figures out the schedule but it's like 2-3 years between many of his runs.

It's a demand thing . His forum often drives an item bump . I wanted that 535 Postell that had been off the shelf for 6 months or more , he says get 5 on board and we'll run a set . So I posted that I needed 5 to get it run . We had my request for a 3 c , 1 for a double , 1 for a single , and 1ea for a double and single in brass . He ran 5 each and in 3 weeks they were all gone and mine was the 3rd one of the triple AL moulds to go .

Its got to be rough to guess the market whims , sure as shootin' if he were to run 100 ea 225-62s , 225-75s , 357-125s and 357-147s he'd have 110 of them still sitting in 3 months because everyone is shooting 310-230s and 454-228s . So it goes . When he makes a run of 10 he usually runs 10 each in 1,2,3,4,5 single type and 2&4s in mixed with 5ea in brass so a run of 10 is 225 moulds . It probably takes a full day even if he just has to babysit the CNCs and there's zero hiccups .

He tries to keep , or did , a 45 day production intent list .

As mentioned above, I’m sure demand is completely insane at the moment, hopefully you found what you need. I was gonna recommend Accurate until I saw the bullet size, idk if Tom even makes em that small

I'd have to go count them,
but I know that I have at least 35-40 NOE molds plus a box full of sizing and assorted parts. Al is, as everyone knows, at a position where he has his plate full. Part of the problem is that an influx of new shooters and reloaders that have put a strain on the system. Most manufactures are running behind in production and are unable to hire qualified people to operate the equipment that it takes to make this product that we want to buy. Given some time things will work themselves out but until that time comes it is just best if we be patient. I have been a follower of NOE for a long time and am not ready to give up on them, and I don't think Al Nelson is ready to give up on us.

Not a criticism on my part, Ben - just an observation and a perplexing question in my mind. I'm going back several years of seeing many moulds on the site "sold out," not just recently. The shame of it is that they are great moulds and when I ordered the one I have, I got it FAST and did not have to repair it right out of the box like 50% of the Lees I've bought, so NOE is a good value as well.

I love the one mould I got from NOE and wish there were more available when I look.

I've only picked up one mould since this last drought started, and that was an Arsenal. Yep, he was backed up pretty seriously and I think it was about/almost two months before it showed up. I get it - everything is hard to get and everyone is busting their butts to get stuff made and shipped these days.

Funny thing is - the "small" operations (like the mould-makers we patronize) seem to be doing a better job catching up than the largest ones.

It's been a while since I participated on NOE's forum. Basically ever since the forums up grade and all things gun related went nuts. That said I never got the impression the Swede ever wanted to be a "stocking dealer" of NOE moulds. Quite frankly I don't think he had the room to store all the various versions of all the designs offered in salable quantities. If you wanted a new design mould you found 9 other likeminded individuals and if you wanted a rerun 4 other souls who were interested. Then you were given a production run. Some over run mould were then offered for sale. If you missed out and wanted a rerun then back to finding four others. He seemed to be able to keep up with this arrangement instead of being perpetually playing catch up.

I guess I am lucky. I looked through his listings and purchased moulds for my 380 and 44 mag. in stock. It was a while ago, but I just looked up what I wanted in the on line catalog, ordered it, and in a few weeks the mould arrived.

I got a weird notice from NOE last Oct. I called on a Sunday afternoon to leave a message. Al answered it, I told him my name and he asked for my handle, then explained to me what he had done and why. I have 4 or 5 Accurate molds, no arsenal and maybe 20 NOE's. I see no reason to change that ratio if what he has is in stock.

Well as Farmboy said everybody’s maxed for reasons he stated. Arsenal had a 5 - 6 week wait, while before he was less than a week. Accurate was 6 weeks on the website, but seemed to be catching up.
Al at NOE offers an incredible verity of molds so expecting stuff on the shelf is asking a lot. Tom’s lists an incredible quantity of designs but he works from your order, which might take 6 weeks.
Al simply has a different business model. A little frustrating because you look at his website and you see a lot of “sold out” labels. Well all of Tom’s stuff is “sold out” but he takes orders and builds one at a time. Arsenal works off a individual customer order as well. Just a different business model.
But NOE does have some molds that the nose is a little larger than some prefer. But I have probably a dozen of Al’s molds and a bunch of sizing, expanders. Good stuff. Al has always taken care of any concerns I’ve had. I now have about 8 Arsenal molds as well. Next purchase will be from Tom for a couple of specific molds.

So far my order has not arrived. It was supposed to be in stock and sent priority mail. Been at least 7 weeks, no product not email telling me anything. Most companies will at least send you an email to tell you it is shipped or was out of stock.
Then again maybe I just need to be patient.
They were sure quick to charge my card though. Next day.
Emailed them a couple days ago , with copy of their PDF Receipt. No response. Most places will at least give you a we are looking into it, form email. Or at least a we got your email, email. Not them, at least not yet.
Going to try to call them Next week sometime.
Well, I guess worse case, at least I only lost about 30 bucks. If no good explanation, product, or refund, will just take it as lesson learned. And will educate as many people about my experience as I can. If I am treated right will also spread the word.
.:(

Yeah give a call in the morning, something is off for sure. Al will make things right.

Right now I’m traveling in the lower 48, currently in the Tucson area and my house sitter forwards mail in a pouch. Priority mail that normally is 3 or 4 days has been taking 8 to 10. Sent my snowplow guy a check on the 21st of December and he just got it got it on the 12th. 20 plus days. It took so long we sent a second check as a replacement. Figured it was either lost or I would be paid ahead.

I cannot comment to whats instock or no.

What I can tell you is it is worth the wait.

Same can be said for Accurate, Arsenal and MO molds!

Im sure all of them are crazy crazy busy and "making hay" but they are producing and shipping molds daily.

I have spoken with Al many times. Before this nonsence that started two years ago April. Unsure if you would get him now. Great guy.
