Not a g lock on sale

Looks like midway has something called p80 lowers on sale 50% off.

Never wanted a glock, grip angle, polygonal, & colt like following(intended). They are however becoming the ar15 of handguns. After a little reading....1911 grip angle, threaded lead friendly bbl from the start if you wish, no dealer fee, can use the ar9 gmags... Ok, I'm in, went for the pf940v2 & pf940sc. Should be interesting when the parts are gathered. I hope it doesn't hurt g fans that I won't be using one genuine g part.

I've been looking at those for a long time since I already do the polymer80 AR-15 thing and they work great, just never had the need. Please keep us posted on your results.

Not meaning to be dense, but how do you come up with the upper? and will the 1911 grip angle work with
std Glock mags?

HMMMM. The bare slide from Polymer 80 is more than an entire functional used G17 from AIM surplus. Sounds
like a really expensive way to have a Glock...... which I have no love for to begin with.

I like the concept of the 1911 grip angle, since that is one of my biggest beefs with the
Glock platform, but I think I'll sit this dance out.

Yep, buy on sale. Stagger purchases to get sales on all, usually. That's the way I build ARs with quality components.

Bill, it's not always about saving money, although 80% stuff usually saves a little. You can buy a forged, anodized, serialized AR-15 lower for $40, but if you have to pay transfer fee, the $60 on sale P-80 kit is often cheaper, and you have control of things like the FCG pocket width so your parts don't need shimming.

Jumped in the poly80 "g" bandwagon to mix-n-match with my OEMs.
Top is OEM G34 slide with Wolf barrel on fullsize Specter v1 poly80 frame ($50 at a gunshow, DIY-stippled with HF wood burning tool)
Next is Spinta slide on OEM G34 frame with $10 magwell
Next is OEM G19 slide on poly80c v2 frame ($140 at DTT with threaded BCA barrel)
Bottom is Brownells ported/RMR cut slide on OEM G19 frame
Except for the tight-tolerance Wolf barrel, all eats up 124g to 160g CBs...

Nice, thanks for sharing.

We are doing a few of them. G17, g26, & g22 clones. Still getting parts together, almost done for the 9's. Hope to run an rmr on threaded 17 & 22. Basically, just need the recoil springs & guide rods to do the neeners.

The 26 will use a lone wolf threaded barrel. It is really tight in the spinta slide, that's better than floppy & sloppy though.

Not having as much luck finding the g22 slide/parts on the cheap. Probably won't do the 40 till next summer.

Ebay is your friend on glock parts.
Cheap & already broken in.
G22 parts are interchangeable with G17 or G34 except for the extractor unless you don't mind face-brass. Nothing a little bending wont fix though.

Interesting, I did not realize the 17 & 22 share the same slide. Not being into glocks at all, I hadn't found any definitive answer on that. If they are the same I will be kicking myself for not getting 2 on sale.

They share the same frame & parts but a 17 slide will not accommodate a .40S&W barrel but a 22 will accommodate a 9mm conversion barrel. Sorry if I misled anyone. Same is true for a 19 & 23.

Gotcha, I knew they shared some slide parts. Preliminary searching showed they were different slides. It will be a while before I get around to a 40 anyway.

Looks like they've come out with a g43 p80 lower too. That would be a hoot, if they put'em on clearance. Also looks like they are launching a large frame for g20/21. A threaded 10mm or 45acp would be fun.
