So, should I trade my CZ 222 for a CZ x39? Or a Ruger m77 in 260 with cash on top?

;)

Ummm, ALL flip phones are vintage.
Rick has no cell phone.

Keep with CZ but a x39 would be interesting. Far nicer rifle than a Ruger and I'm not a big 22 shooter with cast.

A CZ in another cast friendly caliber?
I do like CZ rifles. And 75's.

their retro 75-B is nice.

and don't buy another CZ in x39 I need to find one.
seems that's about the only maker of them any more.
I got brass in a box [big brown box] and dies and a mold and no dang rifle.
I guess I could load all those cases with the 310 diameter jacketed hornady's I have and shoot them in the sks paratrooper [that ain't ever been fired]
I dunno why they call it a paratrooper model it's just a short rifle and the stock don't fold over.

75B is quite nice. Best handling 9mm I have tried.

I just received the 1k of x39 red army boxer primed brass I was waiting on. Couldn't be more excited for that. Says red army on the headstamp, their gunna label me a terrorist for sure now.

Flip phones are so 1942... er uh.. 82. Might as well have a string & cord. I still remember the old bag phones. Fil has one to this day I, was giving him a hard time about keeping it. He claims they transmitted at a higher wattage. I informed him no cell co I know of will provide service for non-digital phones that I'm aware of.

Fiver ya really need the ability to post pictures or we don't know what your talking about. When I visualized your sil rifle I had to get creative until they sent the pics on your behalf.

If that is your only excuse then I need it, right now I have 3 girls that will need deer rifles, but if you count my wife 4, what better way than to have matching rifles (ok so Elli's rifle is a 300 BLK) I like that 222 but it is hard to pass up a rifle like that 527 Carbine.

Now on to pictures, just drop em in photobucket (clean 5 gal will work) and upload (upload is kinda like pitching hay) them to the interweb (biggest spiderweb in the barn) BAM you just finished your first complex internet task!!!

Have you read fivers typing? If he goes to post a photo of his rifle we are likely to see family photos. The man can't hit the right key to save his arse.o_O

I bet he can shoot though. Probably shoots as well as he can drift a thread, and that is pretty damn good.

Lessee.... Arsenal, Century Arms (newer stuff), lotsa GOOD AK opptions, am I missing something?

I've been tempted to start this very thread for a few weeks now, lots of repeat traffic and very few posts. What is everyone UP to now that it's full-on winter most places?

Yep, had the same flip phone through three contract renewals. Free phone deal has been off for years so I don't bother anymore. Snag a new battery and fresh Nylon belt pouch for a few bucks every once in a while and GTG.

I wouldn't bet against Fiver's shooting, with anything. Anybody who stocks shotgun reloading components by the chest freezer full, counts lubed/sized bullets by the 5-gallon bucket quantity, and thinks 32 lbs of rifle powder is a minimum order...until next year.... prolly knows where the trigger key is and how to mash it.

I haven't loaded a round in months. Need to load rounds for the Garand, duplexed BP cartridges for the '86 45-70, need to load 44-40s as the BiL wants to shoot the model '92. Had an itch to buy a new mould for 44-40 for some time now. Have lots of machining that needs to be done. Need to buy an assortment of flat ground stock (O-1 Starrett stock).

But, priority is working on this house to make it appeal to potential buyers.

Clean up landscaping in back yard.
Reface kitchen cabinets and upgrade counter-tops.
Replace garage door.
Remodel bathrooms.
And on and on.

Son's iPhone is on the blink; gotta go to the Apple store tomorrow.
MiL wants to eat sushi tomorrow; gotta go to the hoity-toity store (Bristol Farms) and buy sashimi grade tuna.

Work, work, work! Daddy do this, Daddy do that! Work, work, work!

Wow! Rick got a new phone. I thought you threw it away on retirement. I know better than to ask if you text.

We are getting real winter today. Wind chill well below zero. We might even share some of that with Rick, a gesture he won't appreciate. Cold makes it not much fun to shoot outdoors.

I need to get busy and cast a bunch of 44 bullets. I also have a few sizers I need to get made. I'm sure my wife has plenty of stuff for me to do also.

Text? What's that? :confused::confused::confused:

I did toss the stupid phone (nothing smart about it) and fire the cell phone company when I retired but when I drove to the sewer last summer on vacation I bought a real nice flip phone in case I needed it on the interstate. Haven't used it yet though but I guess it works.

well I have had this brass since the klinton admin, looking for something to us it in.
I really want a bolt gun or a single shot.
the semi-auto thing is okay for shooting varmints with but finding the brass out in the sage rush is a royal pain.
I'd ideally like to find a ruger with the 308 barrel.

yeah photo bucket would maybe help but I'd be spending even more time on the computer instead of in the gun room, right now I'm looking at about 400 pieces of brass that need champhered and stuff and typing this isn't speeding up getting that done.
posting pictures would just slow me down even more.
I also scrounged even deeper in the brass cabinet's and found another 2 hundred pieces of mil-surp 0-6 brass t make into 7.7 brass for the oldest girls rifle and another hundred to make into the argie brass for littlegirls rifle, plus 2 hundred more to make for my rifles.
that all takes time, and time is running short since I have to get back to work Tuesday.

I'm going to cast with that new Lee 22 mold later today. My brother is coming over to load some 311041's up for his 30-30. The new Frankford Arsenal trimmer works great! I also got a new Lee collet neck size die to try out.
My buddy did a trigger job on my 1895 Marlin 45-70 for me. Going to take that out tomorrow to test some loads. I also put some new Pachmyer grips on the RedHawk. That will go out tomorrow too. image.jpeg

Fiver ya got it all wrong. A picture is worth a thousand words. So it would save you a lot of typing. That means more time for fun!

You'd post a pic & just type "see" & we all could.
