As I was searching for frugal, consistent, and easy ways to measure the cylinder mouths on a revolver, I saw some darned near beautiful examples of tool porn on flea-buy... Then I looked at Meyer Gage, https://www.meyergage.com/
and as a manufacturer of pin gauges, they can and do offer replacement pin gauges [example]
.011" to .060" $2.88
.061" to .500" $2.59
.501" to .625" $3.45
.626" to .750" $5.18
Now, I haven't fully explored this, but buying a 250 piece set from .250-.500 leaves me with lots of unused pins.
