Overthinking it

The part I made was left as turned. It was a hunk of 12L14 I had on hand. I won’t blue or anything as it is a shop use only part and I’m too lazy to do more with it?

Oooops,so sorry....looked like it was blued.

When going to our jobber, nut bolt joint buying fasteners, sort of just rolls of the tongue...."black"(as in,oxide). When throwing the note tab up on the counter, referencing "finish".

Birchwood Casey has a cold blue bottle that basically provides the same.Machine part, hit it on the ____ op (open to further discussion) ,clean it,dip it,voila....black,blue,whatever.

Nice way to finish a part, nothing more....nothing less.

Agree with Keith. I spend some time thinking about it. Then sketch out a couple of
versions....THEN start cutting metal or wood. Saves a lot of scrap.

Oh, I spent lots of time thinking about it. Had the first idea about done. Then a little light bulb turned on and something I never thought of before came into mind.

It is amazing how often ideas come along that are so obvious it is irritating it wasn't thought of earlier.
