PC Water Method

Not my idea, I think I read it over on CB, of using a small container of warm water in which a "sifting" of PC is used. I didn't use enough PC to get a uniform coating but the technique has promise. Put some warm water in a dish. Just enough to cover the drive bands on said bullet. Sift some PC on top of the water. Hold bullet by the nose and dip it into the water. Pull it out and set on wax paper to dry. The PC will stick to the bullet. Bake as normal. Going to try this again tomorrow.

Did you size first? I tried couple yrs ago, HF red, no luck. Yours look lots better. Seen pics of very well done, may try again with different powder. How warm the water? Warm bullets?

Cold water might work better. It increases surface tension.

All I used was warm tap water and as a test I used some 3 yo cast that I measured prior to the PC test and to my surprise they were .316. I did size the samples after the baked PC'd test with a .309 Lee sizer die and then took the pic. I'm going to add more PC powder next time and make sure I cover the driving band(s). This technique has greater potential, IMO.

I’ll try this one day, when I get around tuit. I have some bullet/chamber- combinations where the added nose girth with PC is problematic. Interesting method.

Sounds like a old cub scout project we did way back when! But we used oil base paints and glass jars....& we were making fancy vases for Mothers Day! Water surface tension is an amazing thing
