The staff has noticed a few tag lines that are very political in nature.
Please look at your tag line and think of it in these terms- does it convey an obvious political viewpoint? If so, please remove or edit it,

When this forum was founded it was decided that politics would be one of the things we would not, and could not, permit to be discussed. The ability of political discussion, even in agreement, to cause a rift between members can’t be underestimated.

Thank you for you attention to this matter.

Edgy is good.
Yours is actually amazingly accurate.

I think these days some people read more into things than was ever intended. Kinda sad that you can't speak plainly for fear of offedning the perpetually indignant of the world.

I understand that Ian, and I'm not speaking to this place in particular. I'm just noting that some people, many people even, tend to take offense or see things that just aren't there these days. That extends to people seeing religious or political intent to something that in the speakers mind wasn't either of those. The Thought Police...

Bret, I can only speak for this forum. When Ian, Rick, Bob, Ben, and I discussed this place before it came into being there were two topics that we all agreed needed to be strictly off limits, politics and religion.
It has nothing to do with being the thought police but rather a desire to keep the forum civil. Allowing topics that are potentially divisive to the degree that political and religious discussions can become is counter to that desire.

So like my boolits line about the boxes ......... I guess I changed that .
Left the McKinley quote though . It's more hope than poly ticks .

Long ago several wise men told me at different times , if a man is your friend and you want to keep him never discuss politics , religion , or income , dont discuss them with your wife , once you know her church it'll just result in salty beans and camping on the couch . Or something close to that .

It's just a comment on our culture these days, nothing more. I get why you made the decisions you did, just surprises me that people are so ready to take offense these days.

Perpetually offended is a way of life these days, it's even taught in schools.

Bret, you have sheep, right? People aren’t that different really. Once a few show offense it quickly becomes the in thing to be offended.

I am totally offended that people get offended when I make offensive comments. :embarrassed:

Super sensitive, gullible, & ignorant types usually run away crying from logic.

Owning, carrying, & shooting IS my political stance.

Kindly stop comparing people to sheep. Considering the people I've run into over my lifetime, I can assure you that you are insulting the sheep!!!;)

At least the sheep have at least some useful function , and produce something useful so that does put the well above and ahead of some people I've met .

I appreciate the absence of politics and religion as discussion matters here. VERY MUCH. I find both proselytizing and consciousness-raising to be annoying and obnoxious intrusions.
